The Academic Challenge Bowl is coordinated and funded, in part, by the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) division of the Department of Education, and produced in conjunction with KGTF TV-12. It began in the 1977-1978 school year and is now Guam public television's longest-running local program. Carol Johnson is the GATE coordinator of the ACB program this season. During the ACB season, a selected group of high school moderators are trained and coached to moderate a weekly in-studio production of trivia matches in the middle and high school grade levels. The topics vary from math and science to the arts, music and culture. At the end of each season, an All-Star team is selected from the high school category to participate in the national competition among other schools in the U.S. mainland.

The Academic Challenge Bowl airs each Monday at 7:30 p.m. and repeats on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The Guam Coastal Management Program (GCMP) of the Bureau of Statistics and Plans (BOSAP) launched the first season of "Man, Land and Sea" television in March 1996 as a creative way to keep the community informed of Guam and her island environment. This outreach complimented the newsletter (of the same name), which has been in existence since the 1970's. Annie Flores, GCMP's Resource Information and Education Officer is the program host. Now in its 6th season, the program's success can be attributed to GCMP's commitment to budget $45,000 in grant funds from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and through continued support of KGTF TV12, as well as support from GCMP's networking agencies.

Retired GCMP administrator, Mike Ham, was the host, writer and creator of earlier shows, which were broken up by information segments, such as in-studio interviews: "What in the world is that," which focused on the island's flora and fauna; and "Places and Faces," which highlighted environmentally interesting areas and people important to Guam's environment.

The 30-minute monthly show airs on prime time, every 3rd Wednesday of each month on KGTF TV 12 at 8:00 p.m. It is repeated on the following Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Hafa Guaha is a revival of the talk show concept previously shown on KGTF TV-12, public television for Guam. In the earlier days, now General Manager Benny Flores, hosted a talk show entitled, "Todo put Guam," which in English means, "All about Guam."

Hafa Guaha, loosely translated in Chamorro, means, "What's happening?" Chris Lizama is host and producer of the show, which airs each Monday at 7:00 p.m. and repeats on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

The Hafa Guaha format is not restricted to in-studio interviews. Since its inception in October 2002, Hafa Guaha has gone on location and showcased a myriad of guests and topics, including a Cancer Awareness Series, Diabetes Month, passenger cruise vessels, Island Girl Power, the Terra Cotta Warrior Exhibit from China, and the Guam Notary Public Association, just to name a few.

Funding for Hafa Guaha is provided through the solicitation of underwriting support from private businesses and other grant sources.

Lesson of the Week is a program patterned after an earlier local production entitled, "Let's Chat in Chamorro" (1971), authored by Dr. Katherine Aguon. It is a local program produced by KGTF in conjunction with the Department of Chamorro Affairs.
This 3-5 minute 'lesson' hosted by Dr. Aguon, and is aired every weekday evening just before 7pm. Each lesson is progressive and part of a comprehensive course made up of weekly lessons that are simplified and repeated to help you learn the Chamorro language.
Through KGTF's support of the culture and language of Guam, viewers of Lesson of the Week learn to speak Chamorro, starting with vocabulary, grammar, dialogue, and other necessary information to encourage the practice and speaking of the language.
